The Designer – Tom Weiskopf

This mesmerizing property captured the imagination of one of the best high-desert designers in the golf world: Open Champion and “Golf Architect of the Year” by Golf World magazine, Tom Weiskopf.

Weiskopf was challenged by this swath of land—thought by some to be too small for a truly amazing championship layout—so he embarked on a labor of love that would transform this box canyon into what it is today. He rode on horseback through the mesmerizing landscapes of Seven Canyons to envision a world-class course with a timeless sensibility, designing without any working drawings. Ultimately, he created a “core golf” concept that minimizes building along the course and maximizes a gallery of Sedona’s pure nature. Seven Canyons is truly one of the most special courses Weiskopf has ever created.
